Ramakant Vijayvargiya sentenced to four years imprisonment
The court of the first additional session judge of the capital, Ram Prasad Mishra, while hearing a 15-year-old fraud case, convicted Ramakant Vijayvargiya under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code and sentenced him to 4 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000. The accused is already in Central Jail Bhopal in several cases.
This is the case
Accused Ramakant Vijayvargiya sold five residential plots to the complainant Sandeep Singh and his family in the year 2006. The accused, in his capacity as the managing director of a company called Distinct Infrastructure Limited (DIL) in Panchvati Colony, Airport Road, had also signed a contract to develop the colony by dividing plots in various Khasra numbers located in village Laukhedi. In the year 2006, the complainant and his family had issued cheques worth about Rs 36 lakh in the name of the accused’s company.
The accused, on the basis of the contract letter, declared himself to be the owner of the land and prepared an imaginary layout plan and prepared 479 plots.
