New Delhi
On the occasion of Republic Day, this year, Jharkhand will be paid tribute to well-known industrialist Ratan Tata in the tableau of Jharkhand who died on 9 October 2024 at the age of 86. This time, the main attraction in the tableau of Jharkhand will be Jamshedpur, the city whose development was contributed by Ratan Tata. It is also known as the country’s first ‘Steel City’. Jamshedpur, located in southeastern Jharkhand at the confluence of Swarnarekha and Kharkai rivers, symbolizes the industrial power of the country. After Jamshedji Tata, who set up a steel plant in 1907, Jamshedpur is the largest urban center in Jharkhand and an important industrial and transport center.

This year’s tableau emphasizes the important role of Ratan Tata in the development of Jharkhand. A panoramic view of industrial units of Jamshedpur, known as Tatanagar in the tableau, will also be presented. Along with industrial achievements, traditional dance forms, handicrafts and arts of Jharkhand will also be displayed in this tableau. Sohrai and Khobar paintings made by tribal artists will be the main attractions.

Shalini Verma, Deputy Director of the Information and Public Relations Department of Jharkhand, told IANS, “This time we have decided to honor Ratan Tata. Along with this, we have also shown women empowerment, showing how they create employment by working. ” He said, “We have also focused on education. Both industrialization and education reflect developed India and developed Jharkhand. ” In the central part of the tableau, rural women engaged in creating traditional handicrafts will be shown, which symbolizes the inheritance and integration of development. This element shows how the traditions and resources of Jharkhand are contributing to the progress of the nation, which reflects the theme of “Heritage and Development”. Chhau dance of Seraikela included in UNESCO World Heritage will also be displayed as the main element of tableau. This traditional dance based on mythological themes will showcase the dynamic cultural heritage of the state.

This year there will be tableaux of 15 states and union territories on the duty path. Apart from this, various departments of the central government will also show their achievements in these tableaux. In the tableau of Jharkhand, ‘Tasar Silk’ and Baba Baidyanath Temple have been depicted on the last occasions. This tableau will be a suitable tribute to the transformational vision of Ratan Tata, who was awarded the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan, who helped to identity and give shape to the future of Jharkhand.
