US President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday nominated his close aide and confidant Kash Patel for the post of Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This selection is in line with Trump’s view that radical changes are needed in the government’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies. Trump has also expressed his desire for vengeance against his opponents. In such a situation, Patel’s selection for this post matters. Kash Patel
Kash Patel’s appointment is considered important for Trump’s second term. Patel will focus on strengthening law and order and national security in America. Patel, 44, also served as the ‘Chief of Staff’ to the US acting Defense Secretary in the last few weeks of the then Trump Administration in 2017. Patel, a lawyer by profession, hails from Vadodara in Gujarat. Patel was also in the news due to his statement regarding the Ram temple built in Ayodhya in India.

Vivek Ramaswami
President-elect Trump has selected Vivek Ramaswamy to head the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Businessman Ramaswamy’s job will be to advise the government. Bharatvanshi Ramaswamy is a millionaire and also the founder of a pharmaceutical company. Vivek Ramaswamy was in the race to become the Republican Party candidate for the post of President but later he withdrew his candidature. After this he decided to support Trump.

Ramaswamy, the 39-year-old son of an Indian immigrant, is the first Indian-American whom Trump has inducted into his administration. His father V Ganapathy Ramaswamy is an engineer by profession, while his mother Geeta Ramaswamy is a psychiatrist. His parents migrated to America from Kerala. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Indian-origin businessman was a nationally ranked tennis player.

He graduated in Biology from Harvard. After this he started his own biotech company, ‘Roivant Sciences’. The biotech businessman is married to Apoorva, a throat surgeon. He is an assistant professor at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. They live in Columbus, Ohio and have two sons.

Tulsi Gabbard
Former member of the Democratic Party, Tulsi Gabbard will serve as ‘Director of National Intelligence’ (DNI). Gabbard has been an MP four times. She was also a candidate for the presidential election in 2020. Gabbard has experience from three deployments to conflict-torn areas in West Asia and Africa. She recently left the Democratic Party and joined the Republican Party.

Jai Bhattacharya
Trump has selected Indian-American scientist Jai Bhattacharya as the director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), one of the country’s top health research and funding institutions. Usha Vance
Indian-American lawyer Usha Chilukuri Vance came into limelight when her husband J.D. Vance was nominated as the Vice Presidential candidate by Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump. With the victory of Trump-Vance, 38-year-old Usha is going to become the Second Lady of America. Usha will be the first Indian-American in this role. Usha was standing with Ohio Senator J.D. Vance (39) when Trump addressed supporters after his victory in the presidential election.

Usha, the daughter of Indian immigrants, grew up in a San Diego suburb. His parents’ ancestral village is Vadaluru in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Usha, who was a bright student in studies and was fond of books, later showed leadership qualities. Usha has also been associated with Cambridge and Yale University. He also worked for various members of the Supreme Court. Her last job was as a civil litigation attorney at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP. Usha and Vance met while studying at Yale Law School. They later got married in Kentucky in 2014. Vance has three children. sons Ivan and Vivek as well as a daughter named Mirabel.
