Sub-engineer and secretary have been caught taking bribe in Mauganj of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. This action has been taken by the team of Rewa Lokayukta (Rewa Lokayukta Big Action). Both of them had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the Sarpanch in exchange for passing the bills for the works done by the Gram Panchayat.
Lokayukta team caught sub-engineer and secretary red-handed while taking bribe of Rs 20,000. The matter was complained by Akaria Gram Panchayat Sarpanch.
Demand of Rs 20 thousand in exchange for passing the bill
Sarpanch Tarun Shukla of Akaria Panchayat of Naigarhi district of Mauganj had complained to the Rewa Lokayukta office. Tarun had said in the complaint that Sub-Engineer Bhola Prasad Patel posted in Naigarhi District Panchayat and Panchayat Secretary Tikam Prasad Pandey are demanding Rs 20,000 in exchange for passing the bill for the work done in the Gram Panchayat.
Lokayukta police arrested both of them red handed
After receiving the complaint of the complainant Sarpanch, the Lokayukta police investigated it. When the complaint was found to be true, the team carried out a trap operation and caught the bribe-taking sub-engineer Bhola Prasad Patel and secretary Tikam Prasad Pandey red-handed. A case is being registered against both the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act and action is being taken.
