In the meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party, a consensus was reached on three-tier Panchayat elections simultaneously with the urban body. But there is still suspense on whether the election for the post of Mayor and President will be direct or indirect. Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Bodies Minister Arun Sao said that the government will take a decision in this regard soon.
After the meeting with the BJP MP, MLA and division officials of Bastar Surguja Bilaspur division in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said in a discussion with the media that whether the election of mayor and president will be direct or not, the decision will be taken. Will have to wait longer for that. The government will take a decision on this very soon.

Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said after the meeting that the meeting was held in the presence of the Chief Minister. It has been discussed whether direct election of Mayor and President and three-tier elections will be held simultaneously or not.
