The Madhya Pradesh government has declared several important public holidays in the month of December, including a local holiday on 3 December in memory of the Bhopal gas tragedy. Apart from this, there will be a holiday in schools, colleges and government offices on Christmas Day (25 December). Some other optional holidays have also been declared for this month, due to which employees and students will get additional holidays.
December 3, 2024 has been declared a local holiday to mark the 40th anniversary of the Bhopal gas tragedy. Along with this, schools, colleges and government offices across the state will remain closed on the occasion of Christmas Day on 25th December.
Apart from this, several optional holidays have also been declared in the month of December, which include ‘World Disabled Day’ on 3 December, ‘Krantisurya Tantya Bhil Sacrifice Day’ on 4 December, ‘Guru Ghasidas Jayanti’ on 18 December, ‘Guru Ghasidas Jayanti’ on 14 December, Dattatraya Jayanti’, ‘Maharaja Khet Singh Khangar ji’s birth anniversary’ on 27 December, and ‘Balinath ji Bairwa Jayanti’ on 31 December.
Winter vacation also announced
Apart from this, Madhya Pradesh government has also announced winter vacation. This year the winter holiday will be from 31st December to 4th January, which will be extended till 6th January after joining the Sunday holiday on 5th January. All government and private schools will remain closed during these five days.
According to the information, Madhya Pradesh government has also announced winter holiday in schools. This time the Education Department of Madhya Pradesh has announced winter vacation from 31 December to 4 January 2025 in government and private schools of the state. An order has been issued in this regard. Apart from Madhya Pradesh, winter holidays are also observed in schools in other states of North India, although no state has announced them yet.
Till now, five days winter vacation has been declared in the schools of Madhya Pradesh. Since January 6 is a Sunday, schools will remain closed on this day also. In such a situation, there will be a holiday of 6 days in the schools of Madhya Pradesh. There is a wave of happiness among school students after getting holiday on the occasion of New Year.

Winter vacations in Delhi schools will begin in early January 2024. According to the latest information, schools in Delhi will be closed from January 1 to January 6 (Delhi Winter Vacation 2024 Dates). As per previous records, there will be winter vacation in the first week of January.

Due to local holiday on the occasion of gas tragedy in Bhopal on December 3, if any employee or student takes leave on Monday also, he/she will get four consecutive days leave. At the same time, due to the examination period in some schools, there may be a change in the holiday planning.
