IPL 2025 season will start from March 14

The next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will start from 14 March 2025 and the final match will be played on 25 May. The dates announced for the three seasons of IPL have been mentioned in the email sent to the franchises. According to the announcement, the next season of the tournament will start from March 14, 2025 and the final match will be played on May 25. Whereas the 2026 session will run from March 15 to May 31. Whereas the 2027 session will be from March 14 to May 30.
According to the announcement, there will be 74 matches in the 2025 season like the last season. However, this number is ten less than the 84 matches listed by the IPL for 2022. In the tender document for the new cycle, the IPL has specified a different number of matches in each season. There was mention of 74 matches being played in 2023 and 2024, 84 matches in 2025 and 2026 and 94 matches in the last year of this contract i.e. 2027.
Cricket Australia (CA) has given approval to all its players, both international and domestic, to play in the 2025 season. Apart from this, the cricket boards of most of the full member countries England, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and West Indies have given permission to their players to play in the IPL for the next three seasons. This does not include Pakistan, whose players have not got a chance to play in IPL since 2011.
