Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Madhya Pradesh has become a state with immense possibilities in the field of textile and apparel industry. The state’s rich agricultural backgrounds, excellent arts of traditional weavers communities, modern industrial basis and investor-friendly policies are making the state a leader in the region. Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as India’s major textile and garment hub due to the government’s deliberate efforts. Global Investors Summit-2025 will become a medium for further speed to this industrial journey, where investors around the world will be made aware of the opportunities available in the state.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the textile industry of Madhya Pradesh is not limited to production only, but it is building a complete price chain, including all stages from the production of raw materials to the manufacturing and global exports. He said that Madhya Pradesh contributes to 43% of India and 24% of organic cotton production globally. This figure not only reflects the capacity of the state, but also makes it an ideal place for environmentally sustainable and high quality textile manufacturing.
Cotton, silk and modern fiber – Madhya Pradesh’s basic strength
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state is a leader in cotton production. Also, the silk industry here is also continuously expanding. The state produces more than 200 tonnes of silk per year, promoting both traditional handloom and modern silk products. In addition, Madhya Pradesh is also growing rapidly in the field of modern artificial fiber production, which is strengthening technical textile and specialty fiber.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel Park being developed in Dhar district will give a new dimension to the textile industry of the state. Spread over 2,100 acres, this park will have a world -class infrastructure for textile and garment industries. This park will not only attract investment, but will also make the state competitive globally.
Traditional art and modern textile unique confluence
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the identity of the state is not limited only to big textile industries, but the traditional art here is also a major force in the textile sector. Excellent handloom products like Chanderi, Maheshwari, Bagh Print, Batic Print and Zari-Zardozi show the heritage of Madhya Pradesh, efforts are being made to identify them globally. Maheshwari sarees, garden patterns and Chanderi cotton have received GI tags, which further strengthened the branding of these products and strengthens the market.
More than 60 big textile mills, more than 4,000 taxes and 2.5 million spindles are employed in the state. Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Dhar, Dewas, Gwalior, Chhindwara and Jabalpur are developing as major textile hubs. The readymade garment cluster of Indore has become a major unit of ready -made textiles in the state with more than 1,200 units. Apparel designing centers and special economic zones located here are providing competitive leads to industries.
Government initiative to give new heights to investment in textile industry
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government is implementing many attractive policies to promote industries. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to draw an investment of Rs 3,513 crore in the textile sector under the incentive scheme related to production. This investment will lead the state to lead high quality textile manufacturing and exports.
The government is providing electricity and water to industries at minimum rates. Also, investors are being benefited through GST exemption, tax rebate and other incentives. To promote the textile industry, the government has also prepared a particularly customized incentive package, which provides financial assistance to industries as per their investment requirements.
Madhya Pradesh is becoming the choice of global textile companies
Madhya Pradesh already remains a major center of reputed companies like Trident Group, Raymond, Aditya Birla, Vardhman Textile, Gokaldas Exports, Sagar Group, Nahar Spinning Mills, AVGOL, Indorama and Bhaskar. These companies are proof of continuous investment in the state, policies of the government and industry -friendly environment. The success of these companies is also attracting other investors and in the coming years, the state is leading towards becoming the largest center in India in textile and dress sector.
