Since then, work in this direction had intensified. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said in the Assembly last December that since 1947, 209 Hindus have lost their lives in Sambhal due to riots. There were incidents of arson during the riots on 29 March 1978 in Sambhal. Many Hindus were killed in this incident. Due to fear, 40 Rastogi families had to leave their homes and run away. There are still witnesses to the exodus. There was no worshiper left in the temple. 46 years after the incident, no one has been punished yet. Due to the activism of the administration and local people, the doors of the temple which were closed for 46 years were opened. After this, the officials started scanning the files related to the Sambhal riots.
