A case of acid attack has come to light in Swami Atmanand School Takhatpur in Bilaspur district. Here, during practical, one student poured acid on another student. Due to this the student got badly burnt. In this matter, gross negligence of the school management has come to light. The teachers released the injured student from school instead of taking him to the hospital. After coming home, the parents took the injured student to the hospital. Due to acid burns, the student has blisters on his neck and back. In this case, the school management has expelled the student who poured acid from the school till the 20th.
According to the information, chemistry practical was being given to the students of class 11 science faculty of Swami Atmanand School. Meanwhile, the nephew of a lecturer of the school poured acid on another student. Due to this the student got badly burnt. The student kept screaming loudly due to the acid burn. Hearing his scream, the subject teacher and other staff arrived and discharged the student. Later the guardian took him to the community health center and got him treated.
In this case, Pankaj Bharti Bennett, father of the student who got burnt by acid, said that the nephew of a lecturer of the school deliberately poured acid on my child. Instead of informing about this and getting the child treated, my son and the boy who poured the acid were discharged and sent home. When my son came home and told me, he was taken to the community health center for treatment and complained to the principal. The principal called the parent and asked to expel the student who poured acid from the school by the 20th.

In this case, Principal of Swami Atmanand School, Moushumi Robinson said that a student of class 11 had put phenol crystal on a student of his own class, the reaction of which is acidic. Due to this, he has developed blisters on his neck and back. The matter is serious. The student who poured acid has been expelled till the 20th. Chemistry teacher Nidhi Tiwari has been verbally warned to be careful while conducting practicals and children should be made to do practicals in the lab in numbers of 10 each.
Instructions have been given to BEO to investigate the incident: DEO
Regarding this matter, District Education Officer TR Sahu said that BEO Kameshwar Bairagi has been instructed to thoroughly investigate the incident and submit a report. Further action will be taken on the basis of the investigation report. The matter of pouring acid in Swami Atmanand School is very serious. If it had fallen on the child’s face or eyes, the child’s eyesight could have been lost or his face could have been badly burnt.
