Vasudev Yadav (55), resident of village Pareva under Shankargarh police station area, was shot at by bike-riding youth on the evening of 19 October. At the time of the incident, he was returning from the tomato field on bike. The farmer was immediately admitted to the hospital. The report of shooting of Vasudev Yadav was lodged in the police station.
Another arrest has been made in the incident of firing on a farmer and Deputy Sarpanch resident of Shankargarh in Balrampur district. The police has arrested Abhishek Tiwari (30), a resident of village Nawadih police station Patan Palamu, who was accused of selling the pistol used in the incident for Rs 40 thousand. The police had already arrested four accused involved in this incident. The farmer was shot over an old land dispute.

Seeing the seriousness of the matter, within a few days the police team had arrested four accused, including two who provided pistols and helped in carrying out the crime.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the shooting was due to a land dispute. Police arrested Sukesh Yadav (22), resident of village Pareva of Shankargarh police station area, Santosh Pankra alias Bokha (25), resident of village Girjapur, his elder brother Vishwanath Pankra (28) and Ashwini Choubey (28), resident of Daltonganj Irrigation Colony, Jharkhand, was arrested and the pistol used in the incident, four empty cartridges, one magazine, two Live cartridges, two bikes and a mobile phone were seized. Police investigation was continuing along with sending the accused to jail. Police investigation revealed that Abhishek Tiwari had provided the pistol to the accused. Sukesh Yadav, Santosh Paikra, Ashwini Choubey had contacted accused Abhishek Tiwari in Daltenganj and bought a pistol for Rs 40 thousand. Accused Abhishek Tiwari was given Rs 20 thousand in cash. The remaining Rs 20 thousand was transferred online. Action under Section 25,27 Arms Act has been taken against accused Abhishek Tiwari.
Two constables of Surguja police dismissed from service
Naiduniya News, Ambikapur: Superintendent of Police Surguja Yogesh Patel has issued an order to separate constable 523 Ramesh Singh police station Ambikapur and constable 702 Tikeshwar Singh Rakshit Kendra Ambikapur from service for showing gross negligence towards duty by remaining unauthorized. A charge sheet was issued against the constables and a departmental inquiry was conducted. The allegations were found proven in the departmental investigation. Notices were issued to both the constables several times, informing them to cooperate in the departmental investigation. The constables did not cooperate in the departmental investigation and also did not appear in the departmental investigation. In the past too, the constables were given an opportunity to improve regarding absenteeism, but despite being provided several opportunities for improvement, no improvement was reflected in both the constables.
