Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat has given an important statement regarding population policy. He said at an event organized in Maharashtra on Sunday that it is important that the average growth rate of population does not go below 2.1. It is important for us to have two or three children. Population science says this and if the average figure remains 2.1 then humanity will be wiped out from the earth without any danger. If the rate of population decline continues like this, then many languages and civilizations will be on the verge of extinction.
Mohan Bhagwat said, ‘Population decline is a matter of concern. Modern population science says that when the birth rate goes below 2.1, then there is a danger of humanity getting wiped out from the earth. In such a situation, society comes to an end, even though there is no direct crisis ahead. In such a situation, there is a danger of extinction of many languages and civilizations. The population policy of the country was decided in 1998 or 2002. The average growth rate of population should not be less than 2.1. It is important for us to have two or three children. Population is needed because society must exist.
