The police have already arrested 13 people including the director of Flora Max Company, which defrauded about 37 thousand women by investing more than Rs. 100 crores and sent them to jail. Now the police has started the initiative to return the money to the investors. The movable and immovable properties of the accused are being marked. The property auction proceeds will be distributed to investors. The police also held a meeting with officials of the bank and micro finance company. During this time, the police has asked to give time to recover the loan and not to recover it by force.
Women from five districts including Korba were financed with Rs 30,000 each from a bank and a micro finance company. Flora invested the amount in the company saying that they would make the women self-reliant and promised to give 2700 installments and some household items every month. Later the amount was stopped. Due to this, banks and micro finance companies started pressurizing women to recover money. On the complaint of the case, the police took action and arrested 13 people including director Akhilesh Singh. Meanwhile, the women reached the Chief Minister’s residence and complained, demanding action and refund of the amount. After receiving instructions from Raipur, the district police started action. In the police station premises, discussions were held with representatives of banks and microfinance companies and investors by City Police Superintendent Korba Bhushan Ekka and Kotwali in-charge Inspector MB Patel. In this, it was agreed to give additional time of two-three months for loan recovery from the investors and not to make recovery by force.
