Now survey will not be done in Sambhal Jama Masjid… Next hearing on January 8 in Chandausi Court


Today the country has its eyes on Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh. Today is the first Friday after the violence that broke out during the survey of Jama Masjid last Sunday. Namazis will gather in large numbers. In view of this, there is high alert in the city. The petition of the Muslim side will be heard in the Supreme Court. The Muslim side has demanded a ban on the survey.

Friday is going to be an important day in the ongoing temple-mosque dispute in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. Since it is Friday, Friday prayers will be offered in Jama Masjid. In view of this, strict security arrangements have been made. There are police at every nook and corner of the city.

Meanwhile, the report was not presented in the Chandausi court which ordered the survey on Friday. Today the court heard the petition of the Muslim side and said that now the survey will not be conducted in the mosque. For this, permission of the court will have to be taken. The next hearing will be on January 8, 2025.

Before the hearing, Court Commissioner Ramesh Raghav told that he will demand the next date from the court to present the report.

Let us tell you, the local court had ordered the survey of Jama Masjid. Last Sunday, the survey team reached the mosque again at 7.30 am. While the survey work was being done inside, a crowd gathered in the streets outside and started pelting stones. To stop the crowd, police released tear gas shells and fired in the air.

Important hearing in Supreme Court

  • Supreme Court took care on Friday Shahi Jama Masjid Will hear the petition filed by the Management Committee of the District Court, challenging the November 19 order of the District Court.
  • The same district court had ordered a survey of the Mughal-era mosque. The first round of survey was conducted on the night of 19 November. It is alleged that the administration is getting everything done in a hurry.
  • According to the cause list dated November 29 uploaded on the apex court website, a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna is scheduled to hear the petition filed by the committee.
  • Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has constituted a three-member judicial inquiry commission headed by Justice Devendra Kumar Arora (retd) of Allahabad High Court to probe the stone pelting incident.
  • According to the order, the other two members of the commission are retired IAS Amit Mohan Prasad and retired IPS Arvind Kumar Jain. This information will be given to the Supreme Court by the UP government.
