Inter hospital kidney swap transplant was done for the first time in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. In this, two women saved the life of each other’s husband by donating their kidneys. Permission was taken from Soto for this transplant. In which there was a condition that the transplant would be started in both the hospitals at the same time.
Many times, due to unavailability of a donor in the family, kidney transplant is not done at the right time, due to which the patient has to suffer the consequences. But two patients have been able to get a new life through inter-hospital kidney swap transplant in the city.
In this, two women have saved each other’s marriage by donating kidneys. Such success came due to the initiative of doctors from two different hospitals. Nephrologist Dr. Sandeep Saxena and Dr. Neha Aggarwal told that the blood group of the 31-year-old patient in the hospital was not matching with that of his wife.
The patient’s blood group is A positive, while his wife’s blood group is B positive. In another hospital, a 47-year-old patient was ill for a long time, both his kidneys were damaged.
Dorner was not made due to mother’s old age
His mother first came forward as a donor but due to her old age, she could not be made a donor. After this his wife’s blood group was not matching. In such a situation, both the women donated kidneys to each other’s husband. Doctors claim that inter-hospital kidney swap transplant has happened for the first time in the state.
took permission from soto
Dr. Aggarwal told that for transplant, approval has to be taken from SOTO (State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization). We presented the report and documents to Dr. Sanjay Dixit, Head of SOTO. After examination we were given approval for the transplant.
The condition was that both the transplants would have to be started at the same time in both the hospitals, so that there would be no problem or dispute later. We coordinated and successfully transplanted it at the same time.
