“Our Constitution-Our Self-Respect” campaign started in the state from 26th November.

The Constitution of the country, prepared after the independence of the country on 15 August 1947, was adopted on 26 November 1949. After this, the Constitution was implemented in the country on 26 January 1950. On completion of 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution, “Our Constitution – Our Self-Respect”, which will run throughout the year from November 26, 2024, has started across the state from today to create public awareness about the Constitution. At the beginning of the campaign, during the campaign, the general public was mainly given information by the public representatives on points like Preamble of the Constitution, making of the Constitution and being proud of the Constitution of the country.

Various personalities of the state were remembered, who had significant contribution in the making of the Constitution. On this occasion, there was a collective reading of the Preamble of the Constitution. In this, along with government servants, common citizens also participated.

Website to bring year round activities on one digital platform constitution75.com Has also been prepared. Photos and videos of activities can be uploaded to the website. Another website has been created to involve more youth and school children in this campaign. https://www.mygov.in: But pictures of essay, quiz and poster competition on the topic of Constitution can be shared. Special events will be organized in the educational institutions of the state during the year-long “Our Constitution-Our Self-Respect” public awareness campaign.

In this regard, the Parliamentary Affairs Department has issued instructions to all the department heads, divisional commissioners and collectors of the government. During the campaign, the Constitution Preamble will also be read collectively in Gram Panchayats across the state. Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. to Gram Panchayats. Constitution Swabhiman Yatras will be organized through MyBharat volunteers to publicize the contribution of Ambedkar. These yatras will take place exclusively in the SC-ST density population. During the yatra, floral tributes will be offered to the statues of Baba Saheb. The fundamental duties of the citizens under Article 51(A) of the Constitution will be read out in the Gram Sabhas.
