Violent protests in Montreal
In fact, on November 22, anti-Israel protests were taking place in Montreal, when violence broke out there. Especially when the annual meeting of the NATO representative alliance was taking place in the Quebec metropolis. At that time the protesters were protesting against the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. This violence increased further when protesters burned the effigy of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the streets. During that time, around 800 protesters set vehicles on fire. Not only this, they broke the windows of nearby shops and also released smog bombs. After this, the police also had to resort to lathi charge to disperse the crowd. Montreal police have reportedly arrested three people so far in connection with this violence.
Trudeau criticized
Justin Trudeau has also criticized this violence. On Saturday, Trudeau said the Montreal rioters would be held accountable. “What we saw on the streets of Montreal last night was horrifying,” he said. Wherever we see acts of anti-Semitism, threats and violence, they must be condemned.
