Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah gave a big statement saying that Congress is not a part of his government. His statement has intensified discussions in political circles. Omar Abdullah made this comment during a press conference, when he was asked a question about the relations between Congress and National Conference. He clarified that his government is working independently and Congress has no direct interference in it.
Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah said, “…from day one we have been trying to get statehood back for Jammu and Kashmir…There are certain things that people want and we cannot fulfill them because this is a The Union Territory is…The important thing is that the proposal was not rejected. It was passed…a door has been opened. Congress is not a part of our government, they are supporting us from outside. Our government has brought this proposal and apart from BJP, most of the MLAs including Congress have passed it. BJP targeted Congress…then Congress became helpless and they had to weaken it a bit but it will not make any difference.
