The Municipal Corporation has prepared a pilot project to displace six slums built near Vallabh Bhawan (Ministry), the most posh and high security zone of the city. Under this project, 116 buildings worth Rs 1100 crore will be built on about 40 acres of land located near the ministry. In these, houses will be allotted to the residents of 8 thousand 214 slums built on 28 hectares of land. About 28 thousand 334 people live in these slums.
Collector held a meeting with officials
Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh held a meeting in the Collectorate regarding this project on Thursday and after discussing with Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harendra Narayan and other officials, gave instructions to prepare the upcoming action plan. Let us tell you that last Thursday, the Collector had given instructions to the Municipal Commissioner to prepare a project for the removal of slums built near Vallabh Bhawan. A total of 388 slums have been identified in the city, out of which approximately 1 lakh 56 thousand 560 slums remain.
Houses will be built under Suraj Yojana
For the slums built near the Ministry, EWS houses will be built under Suraj Scheme on the government land located here. These houses will be built by a private developer, in return for which he will be allotted land here under Compensatory Land Parcel (CLP). The developer will carry out the work of mall, commercial complex and prime development in residential projects under redensification on this land. Along with this, parking area, community hall, shops etc. will also be built. Due to which the nearby people will also be able to get employment here.
There will be 72 residences in the nine-storey building.
The 116 buildings to be constructed to displace the slums will have nine storeys. 72 residences will be built in each building, thus there will be eight residences on one floor. By building it near the Ministry, the slum dwellers living here will not have to go to other places. For the first cluster, Vallabh Nagar one, two, Omnagar, one, two, Bhimnagar, Malviya Nagar situated around the ministry have been identified. These settlements are spread over an area of ​​about 125 acres.
Target to start work from January
Under the pilot project prepared by the Municipal Corporation, all the paperwork is to be completed by December. This DPR, prepared for the removal of 8 thousand 214 slums built around the ministry, will soon be sent to the government. After getting the permission, a target has been set to start the work from January 2025.
Monitoring committee will be formed to stop new slum
A monitoring committee will be formed to prevent the formation of new slums in the Ministry and other areas. Tehsildar, zonal officer and AHO will be included in this committee. Apart from the slums identified so far, wherever new slums are formed, they will be identified and action will be taken to demolish them.
