Tech giant Google announced bringing ‘AI Overview’ feature to six countries including India. In India, the company is rolling out ‘AI Overview’ in English and Hindi and also introducing popular features for the first time in the country that were well received during Search Labs experiments. “This will help you easily switch between English and Hindi results with the language toggle button, and listen to responses with text-to-speech by tapping the ‘Listen’ button,” the company said in a blog post.
It is being rolled out in India, the United Kingdom, Japan, Indonesia, Mexico and Brazil. Hema Budaraju, senior director of product management for Search, said that during testing we noticed that Indian users listen to AI overview answers more often than other countries. Budaraju said, “We are introducing more ways to check relevant websites while searching. Along with the right-hand link display for AI overview on desktop – it can also be accessed on mobile by tapping on the site icon in the upper right.”
Budraju said that as we develop AI, we focus on helping people access information from a variety of sources. Google said, “Our continued focus on improving and enhancing Search allows us to send more qualified traffic across the web.” The company is also testing adding links to relevant web pages directly within the text of the AI ​​overview. This makes it even easier for people to click and visit the sites they are interested in.
