Madhya Pradesh Police is now going to take strict steps to stop cyber crimes. In cyber crime cases, cases will now be filed against those companies from which data has been leaked. Investigation has revealed that the company’s employees are stealing data and selling it on the darkweb at the rate of Rs 35 to 50 per person.
The police is now going to take more strict action to control the cases of cyber fraud. Till now the police was catching the criminals who commit fraud, but now they will also crack down on those who leak or steal data.
Madhya Pradesh Police will now also accuse such companies and agencies of cyber fraud which have cheated consumers with the help of leaked data.
In fact, in the last few years, during interrogation of the accused arrested by the Cyber Crime Cell in fraud cases, it has come to light that they got this data from the Dark Web (a part of the Internet where people do illegal work by hiding their identity and location). Received through.
Company employee stole data
Investigation revealed that professional hackers are hacking the servers of companies and stealing personal information of consumers to make data available on the dark web. In many cases, an employee of the company is stealing this data and making it available on the dark web.
Data is being sold for Rs 35 to 50
This stolen data is being sold on the dark web at a price of Rs 35 to Rs 50 per user. Police believe that if companies are alert about data security, such theft can be stopped. Also, consumers can be protected from losses.
New telecom law gave strength
Till now the investigating agencies were holding the negligence of the companies responsible for data theft, but they did not have the authority to take action against them. The new telecom law has given them the power to act.
Prof. Head of the Department of Cyber Law at National Law Institute University. Atul Pandey says that if any company is directly or indirectly involved in cyber crimes, then action can be taken against it. There is a provision for action under Section 46 and 66 of the IT Act.
The company is responsible for data security
Data theft is a major cause of cyber crime. Hackers are easily stealing data and selling it. There is negligence on the part of the companies in this. They store consumer data, so its security is also their responsibility. Police will take action soon. – Akhil Patel, DCP (Crime), Bhopal
