Kabirdham District Court has imposed a four -year sentence and a fine of one lakh rupees to a fake doctor. The accused used to sell drugs without license and also treat people. According to the information received, the Food Drug Administration Department Kawardha inspected the mother Jagdambe Clinic operating in ward number 18 of Kawardha on 20 January 2015.
During this time, accused Arvind Sarkar father Atul Sarkar, age 44 years, resident ward number 18, Kawardha’s cupboard was received to sell allopathic medicines to patients. The accused was not found on the spot when a document was demanded in connection with the medical business of medicine.
Four years rigorous imprisonment and sentence of one lakh rupees
56 types of allopathic medicines were found in the clinic. The department then filed a prosecution letter in the District Court on July 2017 by registering Section 27 (B) (ii), Section 28 of the Drug Cosmetics Act 1940. Evidence started from 2 February 2023. The court reserved the decision on 21 April 2025. The verdict is given on 29 April 2025.
The court has sentenced the accused to four years rigorous imprisonment under Section 27 (B) (ii) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and a fine of one lakh rupees and one year under Section 28. These two punishment will run together. The Food Drug Administration Department in Kabirdham district was presented in the court. This is the biggest punishment ever.
