Participation of women will be ensured in the procurement of wheat on minimum support price: Food Minister Rajput

The provision has been made in the procurement policy to provide work to women self-help groups/village organizations to ensure the participation of women in the procurement of wheat on the minimum support price with the objective of strengthening the economic condition of women as per Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput has informed that instructions have been issued by determining the process for giving procurement work to women self-help groups/village organizations.

Women self-help groups/village organizations registered under the National Rural Livelihood Mission should be registered one year ago (in the event of January 1, 2025). A minimum of Rs 2 lakh should be deposited in the bank account of women self-help groups/village organizations. Regular form meetings have been made by the group in the last one year. All members/officials in the group are women. In the past years, no irregularity has been done in procurement work and recommendation of Chief Executive Officer Zilla Panchayat is necessary for giving procurement work to women self-help groups/village organizations.

Required documents

Group will have to give other necessary documents including registration certificate, bank statement of the last 6 months savings account, action details of the meetings of the last 3 months and proof of the availability of the required amount. Women self-help groups for procurement work will be selected as per the prescribed procedure.

Women self-help groups/village organizations will be given honorarium of computer operator for the period of procurement and registration by the department for earning work. Besides, commission and relevant expenses will also be given by the Government of India.
