Bill Gates said- India has the ability to change global health and development

Gates Foundation President and Board Member Bill Gates said on Wednesday that India is not only creating digital innovation to empower its citizens, but is also making solutions that have the ability to change global health and development. Speaking on a global platform organized by CII in collaboration with Gates Foundation and Women’s Group Forum, Bill Gates appreciated India’s leadership in innovation, health and sustainability.

The platform came together with the growing role of India’s growing role in furthering scalable, sustainable and tech-driving solution to deal with global challenges with this platform. Gates highlighted that India is building a future with affordable healthcare, AI-managed diagnosis and its leading role in Digital Public Infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of increasing India’s innovative solution globally to resolve pressure challenges in emerging economies. Gates, highlighting India’s rapid progress, described the country’s digital infrastructure, intelligent economic development and technological successes as a model for the world. “India has made significant progress in health and development through low cost innovation,” he said.

Looking at the future, Gates confirmed the commitment of his foundation to work with Indian innovators, policy makers and entrepreneurs to increase successes in AI, healthcare and sustainable development globally. Smriti Irani, president of Alliance for Global Good Gender Equity and Equality, appreciated the leadership of Foundation and Gates. Also highlighted the important role of investment for social innovation.

Irani talked about India’s power in bringing low-cost, technology-driving solutions, which are solving important global challenges such as health, nutrition and food security. CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee emphasized India’s leading role in Digital Public Infrastructure and described it as a blue print for Global South. CII President Sanjeev Puri said, “The success of initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat Health Program and Digital Financial Inclosure, AI-Evid Agricultural Solutions proves that when policy and technology comes together, we can create such scalable, Sustainable solutions that work as a global benchmark.”
