Earlier, two Indian Army personnel were killed in an IED blast by suspected militants near the Line of Control in Akhnoor sector of Jammu district. An officer was also injured by accidentally climbing the tunnel. Meanwhile, Indian officials said that on Wednesday, a junior commissioned officer (JCO) of the Indian Army also suffered minor injuries.
They accidentally climbed the tunnel in the evening. The JCO was part of the patrol that stopped terrorist infiltration. The injured officer is undergoing treatment at the hospital. The ceasefire violation on the Line of Control had become very rare since the ceasefire agreement between the Indian and the Pakistani Army rejected on February 25, 2021.

On 10 February, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Night Core, Jammu, Lieutenant General Naveen Sachdeva took stock of the Line of Control in Rajouri district. The Indian Army said, “GOC with White Night Core, GOCS of Speds and GOC crossed Sword Division visited the forward areas of Rajouri sector and took operational updates of current security status and Pakistani activities.”
The ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan was renewed in 2021, India and Pakistan renewed the ceasefire agreement on 25 February 2021. The two countries announced that they would strictly follow all agreements over the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir and other regions.

8 November 2023: On 8 November 2023, Pakistani Rangers fired at Nayanpur Post in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. BSF soldiers also fired back. BSF Jawan Lal Fern Kima was injured in the shootout. He died during treatment. The firing took place at 12:20 pm.
26 October 2023: Pakistan violated seas fire on 26 October in Arnia and Suchetgarh sectors of Jammu. Pakistani Rangers suddenly started firing at the international border at 8 pm. A BSF jawan and a woman were injured in this.
17 October 2023: Pakistani Rangers fired on the India-Pakistan border on 17 October. Two BSF soldiers were injured in this. The incident took place on the international border at 8:15 am. The BSF had told that the soldiers were climbing the electric pole and fixing the light, then the bullet was fired.
Record violation in 2020: Pakistan broke the ceasefire more than 4100 times in 2020. During this period, the ceasefire broke 128 times in November, while in October 394. In 2020, 21 people from Jammu and Kashmir died in ceasefire violation, while more than 70 people were injured. The ceasefire was broken 3233 times in 2019. The ceasefire was broken 405 times in 2015 and 583 times in 2014.
