Aap MLA Amanatullah’s arrest of court, orders to surrender


Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MLA Amanatullah Khan has got immediate relief from the court. The court has asked the MLA elected from Okhola to appear before the police for the third time. But his arrest is currently banned. The court has also said that the interrogation of Amanatullah Khan will be in front of the CCTV camera.

The sword of arrest was hanging on the Okhla MLA after an allegation of driving a criminal, he approached the Rouse Avenue Court for anticipatory bail. The police had been pushing for three days for the arrest of Amanatullah Khan, but he did not get caught. The court of Special Judge Jitendra Singh has stayed any punitive action till 24 February. The court asked Amanatullah Khan to join the police investigation.

The court directed the police to interrogate the petitioner in CCTV surveillance. Delhi Police on Monday registered an FIR against the MLA for allegedly attacking a police team in Jamia Nagar. Police said the mob led by the MLA helped the accused in a case of attempt to murder to escape from custody.

Police said the incident took place when the Crime Branch of Delhi Police tried to arrest the accused named Shabaz Khan. It is alleged that Amanatullah Kan threatened the policemen and some people also shocked him. Amanatullah Khan filed a petition in the court seeking protection from arrest before joining the investigation.

He claimed that the allegations against him were false. Earlier, it was told by ‘AAP’ that Amanatullah Khan has written a letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner that he has not run anywhere and is present in his assembly constituency. Delhi Police also pasted a notice at his house on Wednesday.
