There is necessary news for pilgrims going to Mata Vaishno Devi temple located in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The ban on the sale and use of alcohol and non -vegetarian in the base camp Katra has been extended for 2 months. Officials gave this information on Sunday. He informed that this ban will be applicable in the 12 km long route and surrounding areas leading from Katra to Trikuta mountain. This ban will be effective for two months from the date of issuance of the order.
Katra’s Deputy Mandal Magistrate Piyush Dhotra has implemented this ban under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code (BNS). Officials said that in addition to Katra to the temple road, there will be a ban on alcohol and non -vegetarianism in villages like Arrali, Hansali and Matial on both sides of the route. Similarly, ban will be applicable in Chamba, Serli and Bhagata villages located on both sides of Katra-Tikri road. The ban will also be applicable in the villages of Kundorian, Kotli Bajalian, Nomine and Maghal, located on both sides of Katra-Jammu Road.
Helicopter quota facility for pilgrims
It is worth noting that Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has announced a helicopter quota facility for senior citizens and disabled pilgrims at Vaishno Devi Temple. SMVDSB Chief Executive Officer Anshul Garg said that this decision was taken with the aim of increasing pilgrims services. He informed that quota will be available on the official website of the board. Garg said that the board has always been committed to improving the experience of the pilgrimage by starting new facilities from time to time and upgrading the existing infrastructure. He said, ‘This facility has been introduced in response to the long -standing demand by the Senior Citizen Forum. The forum had recently held a meeting with the high level committee and demanded a separate helicopter booking quota.
