A total of 8 Naxalites killed in the encounter had a reward of Rs 16 lakh. The soldiers have recovered a Nag Insas Rifle, two 12 bore guns, one BGL launcher and other landmine material from the encounter site.

Giving information about the encounter after holding a press conference, Superintendent of Police Bijapur Dr. Jitendra Yadav said that the encounter took place on 31 January 2025, when DVCM Dinesh of West Bastar Division, PLGA Company Number under a banned Maoist organization in Broken Korcholi forest area of ​​Gangalur police station area 02, Plga Platoon & Militia Company’s presence of armed Maoists Cadres was reported.

A joint team of security forces carried out anti -Maoist operations with the soldiers of DRG, STF, Cobra 202 and Keripu 222 Corps. On February 1, at 8:30 am, there was an encounter between the Maoists and the security forces several times, with 8 Maoists. Two DRG soldiers suffered minor injuries in the encounter, but their condition is now normal.

33 Hardcore Maoists killed in 32 days
