The Champions Trophy 2025 is going to start from February 19, before the form of Indian players remained a matter of concern. However, Shubman Gill has removed a century. Gill’s century came in the second innings against Karnataka. However, even his century will not be able to save the team’s shame. In the first innings, the Punjab team was piled up for just 55 runs, in response to which Karnataka had put 475 runs on the board. Despite the century of Shubman Gill, Punjab could score only 213 runs in the second innings. He suffered defeat in this match with a huge margin of innings and 207 runs.
Shubman Gill was dismissed for 102 runs with the help of 14 fours and 3 gungunumb sixes off 171 balls. He was shown the path of the pavilion by Shreyas Gopal by dismissing LBW. However, after Gill’s century, coach Gautam Gambhir would also breathe a sigh of relief. The performance of Indian batsmen including Gill in the recent Border Gavaskar Trophy was disappointing. The BCCI had instructed the players to play domestic cricket.
Apart from Gill, captain Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja participated in this tournament. Apart from Gill, Jadeja managed to impress everyone with his bowling, but Rohit-Jayaswal and Pant’s bat did not work at all. Ranji’s next round will be played from January 30, it is expected that Virat Kohli also return to this domestic tournament during that time. Kohli did not play in the 6th round that started on January 23 due to neck pain. Apart from him, KL Rahul also did not participate, there was a problem in his elbow.
