Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the first phase of Fit India Club in Gautam Nagar, Bhopal on January 19 at 3 pm. Union Sports Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya will also participate in the program. On this occasion, inauguration and bhoomi pujan of 6 departmental sports infrastructures will also be done. Fit India Club will have programs related to exercise, fitness, sports activities and health including nutrition. Provision of walking track, yoga and meditation center along with open gym, traditional sports zone, library and kids zone is also being made in the club. Besides, bhoomi pujan of women’s fitness centre, multipurpose indoor hall and swimming pool will also be done. Fit India Club will be a model for the entire state.
In the event of inauguration and bhoomi pujan, indoor hall in Nagaud-Satna, Budhni-Sehore, Harda, Timarni-Harda and Narayangarh-Mandsaur and outdoor sports complex in Jobat-Alirajpur of the state and bhoomi pujan of hostel building in Shivpuri were organized. Khelo-Badho campaign will also be launched. Khelo-Badh campaign will be started as an innovation to connect students and common citizens with sports and make them health conscious.
Youth of Bhopal will run in ‘Fit India, Run with Army’
The youth of Bhopal will run in the marathon with the motto of “Fit India, Run with Indian Army”. The event is being organized by the Sudarshan Chakra Corps of the Indian Army to commemorate the Indian Army Day. The objective of the Army Marathon is to promote engagement between the Army and the common man and to establish it as an annual sporting event in Bhopal. The marathon has three categories, which include races of 21 kilometers (half marathon), 10 kilometers, and 5 kilometers. This marathon will start from Dronanchal in Bhopal and end at Dronanchal via VIP Road. About 12 thousand participants will participate in this event. The winners will also be given attractive cash prizes up to Rs 10 lakh. The participant securing first position in the half marathon will be awarded Rs 1 lakh, the second position will be awarded Rs 50 thousand and the third position will be awarded Rs 25 thousand. Similarly, in the 10 kilometer race, prizes of Rs 50 thousand, Rs 25 thousand and Rs 15 thousand will be given. Cash prizes of Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 have been fixed for the five kilometer race.
The event is an effort to unite local communities, sports lovers and members of the armed forces while promoting the Fit India campaign through this programme. This is the first sports event to be organized under the aegis of Army Marathon Headquarters West MP Sub Area in Bhopal. The objective is to make the Army Marathon a major event in the sporting world and enter it into the annual marathon calendar along with the Fit India campaign.
