Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang said that National Games-2025 are going to start in Uttarakhand from January 28. In these, 335 players from Madhya Pradesh are going to participate. 35 sports have been included in the National Games, out of which Madhya Pradesh will participate in 25 sports competitions and one demonstration sport. He said that we hope that the players of Madhya Pradesh will give their best performance.
Amount of medal winners increased
Minister Shri Sarang said that in the last National Games, the gold medal winner was given Rs 5 lakh, the silver medal winner was given Rs 3 lakh 20 thousand and the bronze medal winner was given Rs 2 lakh 40 thousand. This time it has been increased and the gold medal winner will be given Rs 6 lakh, the silver medal winner will be given Rs 4 lakh and the cask medal winner will be given Rs 3 lakh as award. Last time Madhya Pradesh stood at fourth position. This time too, the players of Madhya Pradesh will perform excellently and achieve the leading category in the national games.
innovation
Minister Shri Sarang said that this time, by innovating, preparations have been made to send the team in advance to adapt to the environment of Uttarakhand. Besides, players will also be trained through special training camps. Work has also been done on the needs of sports and facilities of the players. A team of special trainers and officers is also going with him.
Madhya Pradesh in 25 sports including Kalaripayattu. will perform
Minister Shri Sarang said that Madhya Pradesh will perform in Kalaripayattu in the demonstration game. Along with this, Athletics, Archery, Cycling, Basket Ball, Hand Ball, Rowing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Slalom, Yoga, Fencing, Mallakhamb, Weightlifting, Boxing, Wrestling, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Wushu, Modern Pentathlon, Squash, Gymnastics, Hockey (Men and Women’s), Judo, Shooting and Badminton games are also included. Players from Madhya Pradesh are taking part in training camps for the National Games. Sports experts, coaches and modern facilities are being availed in these camps. The players are being provided with the best training and resources, so that they can perform excellently in the competitions.
Sports science support for players
Minister Shri Sarang said that the largest contingent in the national games is hockey (men and women), which has 32 players. There are 28 players from athletics and 23 each from rowing and wushu. Madhya Pradesh’s Olympians Vivek Sagar and Aishwarya Pratap Singh will also participate in these games. The players are being provided with travel fare, normal kit, official kit, modern sports equipment and excellent level infrastructure. Sports science support is also being provided to improve the performance of players. This includes physio strength and conditioning experts, nutrition, sports psychologist, physiotherapist and video analyzer. One Chief of Mission, two Deputy Chief of Mission, photographer, office assistant etc. have also been included with the team.
Prime Minister Shri Modi will inaugurate on 28 January
Minister Shri Sarang said that the National Games will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in Dehradun on 28th January. Various sports competitions will be organized at 10 places across Uttarakhand. This 38th National Games 2025 will have 35 sports including both Olympic and indigenous sports. More than 10 thousand athletes are expected to participate in it.
