State government took important steps to double the income of milk producers

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, today our country is at first place in the world in the field of milk production and Madhya Pradesh is at third place in the country. The country’s milk production has increased by 57.62% and is a world record. Dr. Yadav said that the average milk production in the state is 673 grams, whereas the national average is more than 471 grams. The Chief Minister said that as per the vision of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the State Government has also launched M.P. A collaboration agreement has been signed between the State Co-operative Dairy Federation Limited and affiliated milk unions and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). This has also been approved by the Council of Ministers. The duration of the contract will be 5 years, which can be extended with mutual consent. Dr. Yadav said that under the contract, mainly collection centers will be established in every Gram Panchayat, the processing capacity of milk unions will be increased and the number of milk committees will be increased from 6 thousand to 9 thousand. The Chief Minister expressed hope that as a result of all this, the total annual income of milk producers will increase from Rs 1700 crore to more than double (Rs 3500 crore). Madhya Pradesh will become the dairy capital of the country.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government has resolved that dairy cooperative societies and collection centers will be opened in every gram panchayat to ensure the purchase of milk in the state and to help dairy farmers get the right price for milk. Under the White Revolution Mission, the number of milk coolers, mini dairy plants and chilling centers along with Sanchi Dairy will be increased in each district with an investment of Rs 2.5 thousand crores. The Chief Minister said that the contract with NDDB will prove important in fulfilling these resolutions. This will strengthen the cooperative system and Sanchi brand under the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department of the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to ensure the purchase of milk and help in getting the right price, collection centers will be set up in every gram panchayat. At present the number of milk committees in the state is 6 thousand, which will be increased to 9 thousand. A milk committee collects milk in about 1 to 3 villages, through 9 thousand milk committees, about 18 thousand villages can be covered. Milk collection will also increase from 10.50 lakh kilograms per day to 20 lakh kilograms per day. Additionally, the number of villages covered by NDDB through Milk Producer Organizations (MPOs) will be increased from 1390 to 2590 and milk procurement will be increased from 1.3 lakh kg to 3.7 lakh kg per day. The processing capacity of milk unions will be increased. At present the capacity of the dairy plant is 18 lakh liters per day, which will be increased to 30 lakh liters per day.

Sanchi brand will become stronger
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Sanchi brand of the state will be further strengthened by the National Dairy Development Board. It will be established at the national level through wide publicity. There will be no change in the brand name. No management fee will be charged for the management and operation of the Milk Union and no consultancy fee for the development of new processing plants and infrastructure. The Chief Minister said that as per requirement, technical and management experts will be posted in the milk union on the government’s payroll and the interests of the working staff will also be protected. A grievance redressal system will also be developed to resolve the complaints of dairy farmers associated with milk cooperative societies.

Government dedicated to the prosperity of milk producers
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Cow Protection Year is being celebrated from the New Year starting from last Chaitra month till the coming Gudi-Padwa. To promote milk production and rural livelihood, one village in every block of the state will be developed as Vrindavan village. Dr. Yadav said that the government has decided to give subsidy on rearing milch animals and bonus on milk production. He said that the Madhya Pradesh government is completely dedicated to animal husbandry and cow breeding.
