Income tax department raided the houses of beedi and construction businessman Rajesh Kesarwani, former MLA and BJP leader Harvansh Singh Rathore and Rakesh Chhabra in Sagar on suspicion of income tax evasion of about Rs 150 crore. Income Tax Department sources said that documents of tax evasion worth about Rs 140 crore have been found in Rajesh Kesarwani’s house. Apart from this, seven foreign cars have been found. It is being told that these vehicles were being used by the Kesarwani family, but in someone else’s name.

It is noteworthy that the houses of former Banda MLA Harvansh Singh Rathore, former councilor Rajesh Kesharwani and a property dealer Rakesh Chhawda were suddenly raided by Income Tax Department teams on Sunday morning. A team of more than a hundred officers raided all three places simultaneously.

The survey was completed at two places at 11.30 am on Tuesday. By evening, the survey work was also completed at the place of former councilor Rajesh Kesharwani. Income Tax Department vehicles were standing for three days
Half a dozen vehicles of Income Tax Department officials were parked in front of the former councilor’s house for three days. This was causing problems in transportation.
