Crime registered against famous woman sarpanch on charges of fraud


According to the applicant, he had signed the withdrawal slip and given it to the Sarpanch to withdraw money from the Panchayat account operated in Gramin Bank through three different proposals. It was decided that on November 12, the Sarpanch and the Secretary would meet and withdraw the decided amount from the bank account.

Tapkara Police has registered a crime against the woman Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Sajbahar, Sonam Lakra, on the charges of forgery, in order to get her post back by challenging the order of her dismissal in the Supreme Court. Gram Panchayat Sajbahar Secretary Shiv Mangal Sai Pankra has alleged in the complaint lodged at Tapkara police station that the accused Sonam Lakra forged the bank slip and her signature on the Panchayat resolution to withdraw Rs 21,900 from the Panchayat account.

When the matter came to light, the accused Sarpanch deposited this amount back into the bank account. According to the applicant, he had signed the withdrawal slip and given it to the Sarpanch to withdraw the amount from the Panchayat account operated in Gramin Bank through three different proposals. It was decided that on November 12, the Sarpanch and the Secretary would meet and withdraw the decided amount from the bank account. But on 12th November the Sarpanch did not receive the call. The applicant secretary claims that along with giving information about this matter to the department officials, he had also given the application to hold the account to the bank officials. At present, after investigating this case, Tapkara police has registered a crime against the accused Sonam Lakra under section 318,336,338 of the Indian Justice Code.

Was dismissed in Ripa case

Dismissal action was taken against Sarpanch Sonam Lakra on charges of lack of progress in the construction work of RIPA in Gram Panchayat. Sonam Lakra had earlier approached the High Court against this action. After not getting relief from here, she filed an appeal in the Supreme Court and first got a stay order and was successful in coming back to the post of Sarpanch. In the decision given in this case a month ago, the Supreme Court had made a strong comment on the officers who had taken the action of dismissal and had canceled the order.
