The electricity company is going to provide great relief to the consumers in Madhya Pradesh. There are preparations to eliminate the slab of more than 300 units and add it to the slab of 151 units. Due to this, per unit electricity bill will be reduced by 19 paise which will benefit the consumers. However, the benefit of reduction of up to 19 paise per unit will be available only to those consumers whose household electricity consumption is more than 300 units every month.
Preparation to eliminate the slab of 300 plus units
Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company has proposed to the State Electricity Regulatory Commission to eliminate the 300 plus slab. Now the slab of 300 plus will be added to the slab of 151 to 300 units only. By eliminating this slab, the electricity bill will reduce by about Rs 70. Let us tell you that currently the electricity bill in the state is Rs 4.27 per unit for 0 to 15 units. Apart from this, the bill from consumers is Rs 5.32 for 51 to 150 units, Rs 6.61 for 151 to 300 units and Rs 6.80 for more than 300 units.
There will be a reduction of 19 paise per unit
Due to abolition of 300 plus unit slab, consumers will have to pay 19 paise per unit less bill amount. According to Shailendra Saxena, Chief General Manager of Power Management Company, consumers will benefit from this and the electricity bill will be reduced by up to Rs 70. Even before this, the electricity company has abolished the slabs with consumption of more than 500 units.
