Hindu organizations in Kolkata protested against the ongoing crisis in Bangladesh, streets blocked

Roads remained blocked in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. People from Hindu and Muslim communities protested. Hindu organizations demonstrated against the ongoing crisis in Bangladesh, while Muslim organizations demonstrated against the Waqf Amendment Bill proposed by the central government. A meeting was organized in protest by West Bengal State Jamiat-ul-Ulama. A large number of people from the Muslim community joined the protest from different parts of the city. He raised his voice against the Waqf Amendment Bill and also demanded an independent Palestine state.

The meeting was addressed by the President of Jamiat-ul-Ulama West Bengal and the state’s Public Education Extension and Library Services Minister Siddiqullah Chaudhary. He said, “The Constitution of India provides freedom to every citizen. If anyone tries to tamper with the Constitution, there will be protest against him. The government has directly attacked the Constitution through the Waqf Amendment Bill. This is a conspiracy to snatch away the rights of the Muslim community and destroy Waqf properties.”

Demonstration of Hindu organizations
On the other hand, Hindu organizations demonstrated against the alleged atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh. He demanded the central government to intervene on this issue and take a strong stand at the international level.

Traffic system in Kolkata collapses
Due to these two big demonstrations, the traffic system of Kolkata completely collapsed. There was jam on important roads of the city and people had to face a lot of problems.

Growing opposition against the government
Muslim organizations have made it clear that if the Waqf Amendment Bill is not withdrawn, massive demonstrations will be held across the state. On the other hand, Hindu organizations have also demanded strict action on the issue of Bangladesh. There is intense discussion regarding these demonstrations in political circles. It is believed that this wave of protest in Bengal against the policies of the Central Government may intensify further.
