Actually, they were chased away after creating ruckus in the villages of Shahdol, Umaria and Anuppur. After going several kilometers to the border of Chhattisgarh, they returned again. One of these elephants had returned towards Rampur in Satna.
The wild elephant reached Ramnagar in Maihar via Shahdol. The male elephant died due to getting entangled in the high tension wire at around 4:30 in the morning. As soon as the information was received, Collector Maihar and DFO reached the spot and the electricity supply was stopped.
