Hope of new life is coming from Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is approving financial assistance for the needy people under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme with the aim of providing better health facilities to the citizens of the state. Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme is being operated by expanding the Sanjeevani Sahayata Fund to save from the expenses incurred in the treatment of serious and rare diseases. The citizens of the state are benefiting from this scheme.

Within 9 months, the needy have received assistance in 1211 cases under the scheme and during this period, financial assistance of Rs 43 crore 16 lakh has been approved.
Under this scheme, Mrs. Urmila Devi Sidar, husband of Late Mrs. Urmila Devi Sidar, resident of village Parsa under Malkhauda development block of Sakti district. Shri Kedarnath Sidar is undergoing free cancer treatment. Mrs. Urmila told that after the death of her husband, due to poor financial condition of the house, she was not able to get treatment for her serious illness. In a way, he had also given up hope of living. In the initial phase, he got his treatment done with the amount received from Ayushman Card Scheme. But he needed even more money for the treatment of cancer. Then he got information about Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme. On which he applied to avail the benefit of Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme and the assistance amount was approved in July 2024.
Presently, under the scheme, he is being treated free of cost at Mekahara Hospital, Raipur. Mrs. Urmila Devi Sidar told that for the treatment of her cancer, chemotherapy is being done every 21 days and other medicines are also being given. She said that if she had not been able to get the benefit of the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme, she would hardly have been able to get treatment for her serious illness.

Mrs. Urmila has thanked the Chhattisgarh government for providing her support through this scheme during this difficult time in her life. He has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister of the state Shri Vishnu Dev Sai.

It is noteworthy that under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme, free treatment facility up to a maximum of Rs 25 lakh is being provided to the eligible families of the state for the treatment of rare diseases identified. Chhattisgarh is the first state which is providing such a huge amount for the treatment of the citizens of the state, due to which the citizens are getting better health facilities and a healthy and better Chhattisgarh is being built.
