Indore-Dahod rail line project has gained momentum. Earthwork from Tihi to Gunavad has been completed. Earthwork work is going on between Gunavad and Dhar. This part of the project was to be completed by Ratlam Division by March 2025, but due to the delay in the construction of ROB in this section, this section will be ready for train operation by May 2025.
It is noteworthy that the work on this project, which started in the year 2008, started in the year 2013. At present work is going on in different parts of this 205 km long project. Indore-Dahod New Railway Line Project (205 km) will be divided into Indore-Tihi (29 km), Tihi-Gunawad (28 km), Gunawad-Naugaon (14 km), Dhar-Amjhera (20 km), Amjhera-Sardarpur (20 km). ), Sardarpur-Jhabua (60 km) work is being divided into separate sections.
Track was laid in about 60 percent area
The work of Indore-Tihi and Dahod-Katwara sections has been completed. At present, Railways is working rapidly on Tihi-Gunawad-Naugaon (Dhar) section. Nine ROBs are to be built in this section. At present the tunnel work near Tihi is almost complete. Earthwork from Tihi to Gunavad has been completed. Track has also been laid in about 60 percent area.
Target to run trains by March 2025
The work of Gunavad railway station, yard etc. has also started. The earthwork work between Gunavad and Naugaon is almost completed. Ratlam Division had earlier set the target of operating the train between Indore-Naugaon by March-2025, but due to technical difficulties, this work will be completed by May-2025. Here, work of laying tracks is also going on between Katwara and Jhabua near Dahod.
The entire project is to be completed by 2026
A major part of this project will connect the tribal area with rail services. In this sense, this project is very important for the states of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh along with the Railways. Therefore, work is being done by dividing it into different parts. In the project, construction of new railway station buildings, platforms etc. has started in Sagaur, Gunavad, Naugaon, Jhabua, Pitol. The entire project is targeted to be completed by 2026.
