IPL mega auction is going on in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In this, a lot of money has been showered on wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant. He has become the most expensive cricketer in IPL history. Lucknow Super Giants bought him for Rs 27 crore, which is the biggest deal in IPL so far.

Pant’s IPL career
Rishabh Pant had performed brilliantly as a wicketkeeper in the Under-19 World Cup in 2016, due to which he came into everyone’s attention. After that he was bought by Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). This is how his career in IPL started. He played for Delhi from 2016 to 2022. During this period, he scored 3284 runs in 111 matches, which included one century and 18 half-centuries. His best score is 128 runs.

Rishabh Pant had a strong relationship with Delhi Capitals for eight years in the IPL from 2016 to 2024. After joining the Delhi Capitals team in 2016, he journeyed to captaincy. Shreyas Iyer was injured in 2021. In such a situation, the responsibility of the team was given to Rishabh Pant. In 2023, he had a fatal car accident, due to which he struggled with injury recovery for the whole year. He could not play IPL this year. After that, he made a strong comeback in 2024, scoring 444 runs with three half-centuries.
