Indian Police Service officer Kailash Makwana as DIG Intelligence was the nodal officer at Simhastha 2004. Apart from this, he has been IG Intelligence, Provisioning, ADG Provisioning, CID, Intelligence, Administration. He has served on important positions like Special DG CID, DG Lokayukta, DG/Chairman MP Police Housing Corporation.
The new Director General of Police (DGP) of the state will be Kailash Makwana. He is a 1988 batch IPS officer. Presently he is the Chairman of Police Housing Corporation. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav gave the green signal to his name on November 24 before going on a foreign trip.
Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department SN Mishra issued its orders late on Saturday night. Makwana’s tenure will start from December 1 and will last for two years.
He will be the 32nd DGP of the state, replacing Sudhir Saxena. Saxena is retiring on November 30. Makwana is considered close to the Chief Minister.
Let us tell you that DGP A meeting was held on 21 November at the Union Public Service Commission Headquarters in Delhi regarding making a panel of three names for selection.
This includes DG Home Guard Arvind Kumar, Kailash Makwana And the name of Director General of Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) was Ajay Sharma. The names of Makwana and Ajay Sharma were most discussed for DGP.
Image of a very honest officer
- Makwana has the image of a very honest officer. In the year 2021, he was made DG in Lokayukta, the special police establishment. He opened files of many old cases.
- Action taken against many IAS, IPS officers. He was preparing to start several major investigations.
- But within six months, in December 2022, he was removed and made the Chairman of Police Housing.
- In his place, then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s OSD Yogesh Chaudhary was made ADG in the Lokayukta organization.
- It was also discussed that Makwana was not getting along with the then Lokayukta NK Gupta.
CR had deteriorated while being in Lokayukta
Kailash Makwana’s confidential character list (CR) was also not good while he was in Lokayukta. For which he had appealed to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. His CR was corrected on appeal. It was discussed that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had given him 10 marks out of 10.
Makwana is BE in Mechanical Engineering
- Makwana is originally from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. He is BE and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. He started service on 30 August 1988.
- Was to retire in December 2025. Makwana has also been SP in Lokayukta Police.
- Before this he has been SP in Dantewada, Bastar, Mandsaur and Betul. There came a time when he was transferred very frequently.
- Kailash Makwana, a 1989 batch Indian Police Service officer, will be the new DGP of Madhya Pradesh.
- Only one name among Arvind Kumar, Kailash Makwana and Ajay Sharma was to be approved.
- The names of these three officers were selected in the panel and sent to the state government in a meeting held on Thursday at the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) headquarters in Delhi.
- Kailash Makwana is a native of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.
- He has done BE from MANIT Bhopal and M.Tech from IIT Delhi. He has been ASP in Durg, Morena.
