One lakh 50 thousand girls in the state were given training in Judo-Karate for self-defense.

Rani Laxmibai Self Safety Training Scheme is being run by the School Education Department to strengthen the sense of self-confidence and security among the girls studying in government schools in the state. Under the scheme, about one lakh 50 thousand girls in the state have been given training in Judo-Karate.

Under the scheme, 80 thousand 466 girls from 15 thousand 245 government schools were given training. Along with this, 70 thousand 450 girls studying in 207 Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalayas and 324 Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Girls Hostels operated in the state were given training in Judo-Karate. The School Education Department has also released training amount for girls’ schools of classes 1 to 8.

Distribution of books to visually impaired children

Keeping in view the convenience of visually impaired children, the School Education Department has made available all the books of their curriculum in Braille script. Braille script text books have been printed from the Government Braille Press, Bhopal.

Medical evaluation of children with disabilities

Medical evaluation of disabled children studying in government schools of the state was done through camps. Last year, in the camps organized in the development blocks of 30 districts, 6 thousand 560 disabled children were identified and their required equipment was distributed. Along with this, parents of disabled children have also been provided face-to-face training at the district level on home-based education and daily activities of children.
