Under “Operation Prahar”, Kotwali police arrested the accused with illegal English liquor.

Under “Operation Prahar”, Kotwali Anuppur police took major action against illegal liquor trade and seized a large quantity of English liquor on Friday evening and arrested an accused.

On information received from the informer, Assistant Sub-Inspector Santosh Verma, Head Constable Rajesh Kanwar and Constable Prakash Tiwari stopped a suspicious person near the underbridge. During search, accused Rajendra Yadav (father Baburam Yadav, age 41 years, resident of village Kelhori, police station Chachai, district Anuppur) was caught carrying illegal English liquor in a blue color unnumbered TVS Jupiter moped.

Seized material:

Super Strong Beer: 24 liters

Whiskey: 45 Nos (Total 08 Litres)

Total Estimated Price: ₹12,540

A case has been registered against the accused under crime number 494/24 section 34(1) of the Excise Act and he has been arrested.

Superintendent of Police Mr. Moti Ur Rehman, while appreciating this action, said that under “Operation Prahar”, strict action is being taken continuously against illegal liquor and drugs in the district. There is an appeal to the public to immediately inform the police about such illegal activities.
