Prime Minister Modi gets Guyana, Dominica’s highest civilian honor

PM Narendra Modi has been awarded the highest civilian honor of Dominica. Prime Minister Modi has been honored with ‘The Dominica Award of Honor’ by the Caribbean country Dominica. President Sylvanie Burton honored PM Modi with this honour. Dominica has honored PM Modi with its highest honor for his work during the Covid period.

After receiving the award, Narendra Modi said, “I feel honored to be honored with the highest national award by Dominica. I dedicate this to the 140 crore people of India. During the Covid-19 pandemic, in February 2021, the PM supplied 70 thousand doses of Corona vaccine AstraZeneca to Dominica. Seeing this generosity of the PM, the Government of Dominica had decided to honor him with its highest civilian honour.

The Prime Minister said that President Burton, you have personally come to Guyana to present me with this award. I thank you very much for this special gesture. India and Dominica are two democracies. Along with this, we are role models of women empowerment for the whole world, both the countries have women Presidents. Draupadi Murmu, the President of India, is the first President to come from the tribal community. Similarly, President Burton is also the first indigenous President of Dominica.

She further said that both of you are a source of inspiration for all the women of the world. India and Dominica share centuries-old, historical and cultural ties. In the 19th century, many Indians made Dominica their home. The foundation laid by him provides a strong foundation to our relations.

Total number of Prime Minister’s international awards reaches 19

Let us tell you that the Prime Minister will also receive top awards from Guyana and Barbados, taking his total number of international awards to 19. Guyana will give Prime Minister Modi its highest national award ‘The Order of Excellence’, while Barbados will confer him the prestigious ‘Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados’.

Apart from this, during his two-day visit to Guyana, PM Modi also participated in the second India-CARICOM Summit with representatives of Caribbean countries. On the sidelines of the summit, PM held bilateral discussions with representatives of Caribbean countries. Apart from Guyana President Mohammed Irfan, PM Modi held formal talks with Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and Suriname President Chan Santokhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Guyana. On his arrival at Georgetown he was formally welcomed and given a guard of honour. Guyana President Irfan Ali praised PM Modi, calling him a ‘champion among leaders’ for his influential leadership and contribution to the developing world.
