Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Saw has strictly instructed the officials that there should not be any negative feedback regarding the work. Strict action will be taken against the officials who show negligence and carelessness in their work.
While giving the target of November 2024 for road repair, he said that all the officers should work pro-actively. Spend maximum time in the field. Along with the construction of new buildings, roads and bridges, take full care of the maintenance, repair and upkeep of old roads.
Deputy CM Saw was reviewing the works of Raipur and Durg Revenue Division by holding a meeting of superintending and executive engineers with senior departmental officials. He gave instructions while reviewing road, bridge and building construction works in both the divisions.
He also reviewed the progress of buildings under construction under the central and state sponsored schemes of the Law and Legislative Affairs Department. The Deputy Chief Minister also directed to start the work of sky-walk construction soon.
Saw also sought information about the department’s action in compliance with the decisions taken in the meeting held on July 18 in New Delhi between Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai regarding the development of roads in the state.
He also reviewed the physical and financial progress of the approved works of road renovation of the current financial year 2024-25 and earlier. Secretary of Public Works Department Dr. Kamalpreet Singh has asked to strictly follow the departmental instructions and SOP.

– Issue tender in August for the improvement of bad roads of Raipur and Durg division.
– Send proposals for new works of major bridges and railway overbridges to the Central Government by October.
– High quality must be ensured in all construction works, compromise on this is not acceptable.
– Complete the work of railway overbridge in mission mode.
