Wimbledon 2023 champions Marketa Vondrousova and Cam Norrie have withdrawn from the US Open tennis tournament starting on August 26 due to injury.
Vondrousova, ranked 18th in the world, has a hand injury while Norrie has a problem in her arm. 25-year-old Vondrousova of the Czech Republic won her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon last year. She was the runner-up at the 2019 French Open. She also won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
Vondrousova has been replaced by Petra Martic in the women’s draw at the US Open, while Norrie has been replaced by Francisco Comesanha in the men’s draw.
