Virat and Rohit can play in Duleep Trophy, hope to clash with each other

New Delhi
The Indian cricket team has to play its next international series against Bangladesh. The test series between the two teams will start from September 19. Before that, captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are expected to play in the Duleep Trophy. This tournament is starting from September 5. Four teams named India A, India B, India C and India D will participate in it. The senior selection committee of BCCI will select these teams and many star players will be included in it.

Only Bumrah got exemption

Almost all the big names of Indian cricket can be seen in the Duleep Trophy. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma can be seen in one match each. The selectors want all the major players to play in it. Players like Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kuldeep Yadav have also been asked to play the Duleep Trophy. According to the Indian Express report, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been rested and he will not play in this tournament.

There may be a change in the venue

This time Duleep Trophy will not be played in zonal format. The selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar will select four teams – India A, India B, India C and India D. The tournament is to be held in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. However, there is no airport here and star players have agreed to participate in it. In this situation, BCCI is now planning to hold one round at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Ishan Kishan’s return possible

Ishan Kishan is expected to be selected for the Duleep Trophy. If reports are to be believed, the selection committee wants that if Kishan wants to make a comeback in the Indian team, he will have to start playing red ball cricket. Ishan and Shreyas Iyer were dropped from the contract by BCCI due to not playing Ranji Trophy last season. Kishan ignored BCCI’s warning. On the other hand, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have little hope of getting a place in any team of Duleep Trophy.
