Standup comedian Munawar Farooqui, winner of Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss 17, has apologized for what he said in one of his shows. Munawar apologized on Monday for what he said about the Konkani people in Taloja. The matter started escalating when a few seconds’ clip from his performance started going viral on the internet. Actually, Munawar Farooqui had said in his show that Konkani people make fools. That is, Konkani people make fools.
Munawar said- the intention was not to hurt
Faruqui had clarified that his joke was a part of crowd work, he had said that it is a very common practice that during stand-up comedy, the performer jokes on the audience while talking to them. While apologizing, Munawar Faruqui has expressed regret for those whose sentiments have been hurt. Munawar Faruqui said in his statement, “I have noticed that some people are getting hurt by my clip as a comedian, my intention was not to hurt anyone.”
BJP MLA had called the comedian a snake
Munavvar Farooqui said, “Everyone was on the show, there were Marathi people, Muslim people, Hindu people. But when we see such things on the internet, and notice it, then we understand what the matter is. I want to apologize and say sorry to everyone. Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra.” Let us tell you that Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Nitesh Rane had reacted on this matter and threatened that it would not take much time for him to send a green snake like Munavvar to Pakistan.
