Whatever happened to Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat in Paris Olympics 2024 seems like a story from a film. There was an atmosphere of anger in the whole country when Vinesh Phogat was excluded. Vinesh Phogat’s uncle Mahavir Phogat was also keeping a close eye on this matter. It is known that Aamir Khan has made a film named ‘Dangal’ on Mahavir Phogat and his daughters, which was a superhit. Vinesh has also seen that training closely and lived that time. In an interview, Vinesh had told that her uncle is actually much stricter than he appears in the film.
He said that he used to get very angry after listening to people
When Vinesh Phogat was asked whether what is shown in the film is correct, did people really comment on this when you guys used to train. In response to this question, Vinesh Phogat said, “I was very young, I could not understand who was saying what. But people definitely used to talk to Geeta and Babita. But when I grew up, my mother would definitely tell me that today your aunt was saying something like what are you wearing. Then I used to get very angry and I used to tell them which aunt was that, bring her in front of me.”
Uncle used to get his hair cut in a bowl style
Vinesh Phogat told in this interview with NDTV that she was told not to say anything to anyone when she goes out or else people will talk. Vinesh told that her hair was cut very short. The Indian wrestler said, “I had very short hair, they used to get my hair cut in a bowl. Tau ji’s opinion about this was that if your hair grows long, you will not be able to wrestle because you will get into fashion. You will start paying attention to your looks, how people see you.”
After watching the film, I felt that nothing was shown in it
Vinesh said that he used to say that in wrestling one only has to do wrestling, eating and sleeping. Vinesh Phogat said, “The condition was worse than Hitler, even in Tihar jail, our condition in those days would not have been like this. Neither could we run away from home nor cry. Even if we cried, we were beaten. Even if we ran away from home, we were beaten. Getting beaten was certain. So when I saw the film, I felt that nothing has been shown in it, I have never seen such a soft side of Tauji.”
