There is great news for the art lovers of Chhattisgarh. The 25th edition of the world’s largest theater festival ‘Bharat Rang Mahotsav’ (Bharangam) is becoming more grand this time than before. From 28 January to 16 February 2025, this festival is being held in 10 major cities of India as well as Nepal and Sri Lanka. The special thing is that this time Khairagarh of Chhattisgarh has also got an opportunity to host this prestigious event.

Famous for the legacy of art and music, Indira Kala Sangeet University Khairagarh is going to be a part of this historical festival for the first time. The famous theater groups of the country and abroad will spread the magic of their art here, so that this event will become a matter of pride not only for Khairagarh but for the entire state.

India Rang Festival will be held in Khairagarh from 4 to 9 February
The Theater Festival will be held from 4 to 9 February 2025 on the stage of Indira Kala Sangeet University in Khairagarh, in which major theater groups from India and abroad will stage their plays. For the first time by the National School of Drama (NSD), Chhattisgarh has been given the opportunity to host this prestigious festival. The festival will participate in this festival from many countries including Russia, Italy, Germany, Norway, Czech Republic, Nepal, Taiwan, Spain and Sri Lanka. Famous theater groups from Bhopal, Kolkata, Assam, Puducherry, Mumbai and Pune in India will also reach Khairagarh, which will make the event even more grand.

Organizing can be held in Guinness World Records
This time, it has also been planned to record the Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2025 in the Guinness Book of World Records. Earlier in 2024, the ‘Jan Bharat Rang Project’ set the world record by giving the most plays on a similar subject. This time too, Indian artists settled in seven continents around the world will give online short theatrical performances, which will make this festival a historic globally.

After NSD made Khairagarh a part of this event, the university administration has started preparing for full preparations. The theater department of the university is fully prepared to make this festival historic. In this festival, which runs from 4 to 9 February, every evening theater groups from India and abroad will stage various plays, which will emerge as a new cultural center. This festival will prove to be a historical opportunity not only for theater lovers, but for the whole of Chhattisgarh.
